BEFORE YOUR
LESSON:
I will contact you before
each lesson.
You MUST tell
me:
- If you or anyone in your
household has become unwell or has symptoms of COVID 19
- If you or anyone in
your household has been tested in the last week
- If you believe you may have
been in contact with someone showing symptoms
- If you or anyone in your
household have become unwell or are showing symptoms
You will need to download the NHS Test and Trace app
No cancellation fees will
apply to Covid-19 related issues.
- I will call to let you know
I have arrived and will be sanitising the car for your lesson.
- Please
wash your hands for at least 20 seconds just before leaving the house.
- Your
temperature will be taken before the lesson.
*DO NOT ENTER THE
CAR UNTIL YOU ARE TOLD TO DO SO*
Remember we will not be
allowed to shake hands, share pens, phones or the usual sweets I’m afraid.
DURING THE
LESSON:
- To reduce the risk level,
face coverings will be worn by myself and the pupil.
- Gloves can be your choice
but may be helpful, in case you need to blow your nose or similar.
- It will be easier to use
your own but both will be available in the car if you do not have, unless otherwise told.
- Windows will be open as
much as possible.
- Air conditioning will not
be used unless it is needed to control the visibility, and then it will only be used on fresh air, not recycle.
- Parents, guardians and
friends will not be able to sit in the back on lesson or test.
- Should you start to show
symptoms during the lesson, or if any other relevant information comes to light, the lesson will be terminated immediately.
- We will social distance as
much as we can, unless I have to take control of the vehicle.
- Should we need to talk for
some time, we will park up safely and talk outside the car.
- When we speak inside the
car, we should stay front facing, although I know this is a difficult thing to do, especially if I need to you hear precise instructions.
- Once you finish the lesson
and go inside, please remember to wash your hands immediately.
- You should wear suitable
clothing providing as much covering as is reasonable, short sleeves are acceptable. Please be mindful that the windows will be open for ventilation to help lower the risk. This may mean the car will
be hotter/colder than normal. We will only be using the air-con if there is a problem with the windows misting up. All clothing should be washed after the lesson.
Payments
Cash payments will need to
be the correct money as I cannot give change at the moment. Placing it in an envelope would be perfect. If you would like to pay by Bank Transfer, please ask for the details.
Pricing updates will be sent
out within the next week, where applicable.
The Driving Test
- On the day of your driving
test, we will arrive just 5 minutes before the test to clean down the vehicle before the test.
- The waiting room will not
be open and we will be waiting in the car park, so ensure you have suitable clothing for the conditions.
- You will meet the examiner
in the car park, and they will go through the normal checks with you.
- If you or the examiner
develops symptoms after the test, the NHS Test and Trace service will use data it collects from you to get in contact.
- The examiner may choose to
use a seat covering and must be satisfied the car has been recently cleaned.
- It is mandatory that you
wear a face covering unless the DVSA have been informed at the time of booking the slot.
- The examiner will be
wearing a face covering.
- The instructor is not
allowed to accompany the test.
- If you develop COVID-19
symptoms before the test you can re-book without losing the fee.
- If you commit a serious or
dangerous fault or 16 driving faults, you will be brought back to the centre early.
- You will not be told the
result until back at the test centre.
- This will not result in a
refund from the instructor as the time has already been booked out.
- The debrief at the end of
the test will be delivered outside the car where possible allowing the instructor and candidate to listen at a safe social distance.
- This may not always be
possible due to weather conditions.
- If the candidate develops a
cough, or becomes unwell during the test, the test will be stopped.
- There will be a wait after
the test whilst the instructor cleans down the vehicle before driving you home.
If you are not happy with
any of these conditions, or have any concerns at all, please contact me to discuss further.
Thanks for you co-operation
during these tough times we find ourselves in. With your help and understanding we can get this industry back up and running.
